About Christopher Miyakawa
Christopher Miyakawa recently graduated from Florida International University (FIU), which he attended from 2018 to 2024. Graduating from FIU with an impressive 3.22 GPA, Miyakawa majored in Management and received his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in August 2024.
Located in Miami, FIU is a public research university offering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. With a student body of more than 56,000, FIU is among the largest universities in the United States and has graduated more than 300,000 alumni, 165,000 of whom live and work in South Florida.
While at Florida International University, one of Christopher’s key academic projects included developing a comprehensive international entrepreneurship plan as part of the school’s Certificate in Entrepreneurship program. This program covers assessing new enterprise opportunities, obtaining financial resources, launching and marketing new ventures, and managing entrepreneurial ventures for growth and profitability.
The International Entrepreneurship course at FIU provides a foundation in international entrepreneurship, focusing on the experiences of both small and large entrepreneurial firms. Cross-national and cross-cultural business practices are analyzed. During the course, Mr. Miyakawa developed a plan that included finding growth opportunities and developing strategies to achieve growth, financing and launching a venture presentation, and organizing companies for growth, control, and performance.
Christopher is proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Since graduating this summer from FIU, Christopher has been pursuing options for a career in Management, leveraging his academic experience in the workplace.
Work Experience
Christopher Miyakawa worked at Capriccio Ristorante as a busser in Pembroke, Florida. Capriccio Ristorante is a white-cloth Italian restaurant with an old-school flair and nightly entertainment that adds to its friendly and engaging atmosphere. It is considered by many to be one of the best restaurants in the area. He also provided customer service and went well beyond expectations in order to fulfill the establishment’s patrons’ needs.
Christopher also worked as a crew member at Dunkin’ Donuts in Sunrise, Florida, where he provided customer service and worked extremely hard in order to meet customer needs as well as make the experience even more enjoyable for its clientele. His attention to detail only served as an added bonus for servicing customers.
Additionally, Christopher’s work experience also includes nearly three years at USA Sound Inc., his family’s business in Hallandale, Florida. In the role of Retail Sales Manager, he obtained firsthand experience in sales and expertise in car-centered technology, as well as the installation of aftermarket touchscreen radios, speakers, Subwoofers, LED lights interior/exterior, horns, and various rims for wheels (including rims with lighting options).
Last but not least, Christopher gained invaluable experience as Assistant Manager of Mobile Car Wash Inc. in Bal Harbour, Florida. As a team leader, Miyakawa worked directly and ambitiously with various clients to assess individual needs, schedule timely appointments, and deliver services that produced satisfactory results.
Christopher’s Hobbies
Christopher’s hobbies are diverse and reflect a well-rounded individual with varied interests. He enjoys playing soccer and football, kayaking, and swimming in the pool with his friends.
Christopher also spends time practicing mixed-martial arts (MMA), which teaches practical self-defense skills and builds confidence. MMA training also helps Christoper increase his functional strength, peace, and well-being. Additionally, mixed-martial arts require having to make intelligent decisions under pressure, providing an opportunity to hone in an essential skill that carries over into other aspects of one’s life.
Let the Music Play
Christopher taps into his fun and creative side with music. He plays piano and guitar and likes having the ability to play melody and harmony on both instruments. Music is both a relaxing and joyful experience for him.
Miyakawa’s interest in art also inspires him. He looks at different trends at various times in history as reflected in one’s artwork. Art also brings awareness to social issues and fosters a sense of acceptance — bringing people together regardless of background.
The Explorer in Christopher
Additionally, Christopher’s passions include traveling, exploring new places, including Canada, Peru, Columbia, and California, and meeting new people. Traveling gives him an opportunity to step into a new environment, see new places for the first time, share experiences with locals and other travelers, try new foods, understand different cultures, and become educated about the world. Traveling also provides Christopher time to reflect on his future and the various paths from which he can choose.
Christopher speaks Spanish in addition to his native English.
A Strong Faith, A Contributing Member of the Community
Christopher Miyakawa is a young man of faith who attends the community’s Christian church each Sunday. There, he contributes his tides and offerings to help the parish and those in need.
From an early age, he understood the importance of service, giving back, and growing as a person with a sense of purpose. While he was a student, he volunteered for community cleanup at Piper High School. Working alongside other volunteers allowed Christopher to meet many new people who also care about improving the community.
He also donated to Piper High School’s food pantry, which provided non-perishable food items, such as canned goods, boxed/canned foods and meals, dried grains, cereals, nut butter, and condiments, to those in need.
